How to Watch the Live Video

Depends of your connection speed it may take several seconds for Video Stream to appear on your screen (with a 56K modem/ connection it will take about two (2) minutes). Please be patient!

The Camera automatically searches for the ActiveX component on your computer when using Microsoft Internet Explorer for the first time.

If this component is not found, the Camera then prompts you to install the ' AxisCamControl Plug in ' on to your PC.

You will not be able to view the Video Stream using Microsoft Internet Explorer if after receiving this prompt, you choose not to proceed with the installation.

This is done once and you don't have to re-install it each time you access the Camera. Next time the Video will run instantly and without any delay.

The faster the modem/ connection you have the higher the frame rate you get.

In case you have slow Internet connection or slow PC you can view Live Snapshots automatically refreshed every 10 seconds.

Axis Cam Control Question
I get a message on my screen prompting me to install an Active-X component the first time I try to access the Axis Network Camera. What is this and is it safe?

  Answer
This is completely normal. The Active-X component that are about to be installed is signed by Axis and is a small program that enables you to receive the video stream in your browser in an efficient way.

Note that you will need administrative rights on your computer to install this component and that strict security policies in Internet Explorer sometimes can prevent the installation.

Ask your Network administrator for assistance in case you are prevented from installing the Active-X component.

  Question
When I try to view video from an AXIS video product in the Internet Explorer on my Windows XP/2000 machine I get this message:
"Axis ActiveX Camera Control
The AXIS ActiveX Camera Control, which enables you to view live image streams in Microsoft Internet Explorer, could not be registered on your computer."

How can I solve this problem?

  Answer
Normally, the necessary components are downloaded upon first access to the AXIS video product. If that is not the case, there are several ways to install these:

 (1). Manual registration
Download AxisCamControl directly from the HellasCams Server. This is available under
  http://www.hellascams.gr/activex2120_243/AxisCamControl.cab.

Download this file on your PC and unpack it. From a command prompt (Start >Run>cmd) go to the directory where you have unpacked the files (with cd command) and run the following commands:

regsvr32 AxisCamControl.ocx
regsvr32 CamCli.dll

Also, copy ijl11.dll file to c:\Windows\system32.

After this open an Internet Explorer window and access the camera from the www.hellascams.gr site.

Assure also that your Internet Explorer is set to accept download and running of Active X components. The current setting can be found and
changed under Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom Level.

In case that you still experience some problems after following the above instructions you will need to follow steps under (2).

(2). Changing in the registry of your Windows machine
(a). Go into the registry by issuing command regedit from Start->Run.
(b). Search for AxisCamControl and you will find a directory beginning with 9176.
(c). Delete this and access the camera again. In this way ActiveX should be re-installed.

When Demand for Live Video is High

To access streaming video and stills, we recommend a minimum of 56K modem capability or higher.

At times when demand is high, video streaming may not be available to eachRouter visitor. If you cannot receive a video stream, you will be redirected to a still photo of the location, which is updated every few seconds.

Please try again at a later time to access the video stream.

Live camera locations will be limited during the introductory phase of this new feature, and new camera locations will be added gradually over the next few months.
Still web cam photos are available at all locations.

From time to time, cameras may be out of service because of maintenance. These cameras will be restored to service as soon as possible.
