                       Axis Media Control





AXIS Media Control is the ActiveX component used for viewing and 

handling media streams produced by Axis video products.

System Requirements

===================



- Client PC minimum requirements for MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 (one instance):



    CPU

      ýÿ Pentium III 500 MHz or higher, any AMD Athlon



    Memory

      ýÿ 128 MB RAM



    Graphic card

      ýÿ AGP card with Direct Draw support and 16 Mb video memory

        (32/64 Mb recommended for high resolutions/color depths)



    Software

      ýÿ Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher 32-Bit only

      ýÿ DirectX 9.0 or higher

      ýÿ Microsoftýÿ Windowsýÿ Installer 3.1    

      ýÿ Windows Media Format 9 Series Runtime, or higher, is required

        for supporting MPEG-4 recording in AXIS Media Control.





- If the system requirements are not fulfilled, performance of the 

  control may be considerably limited.



- Make sure used AXIS devices are running the latest available firmware.





Installation

============



- Access an AXIS device in Internet Explorer and choose Install in 

  the installation dialog that displays. 



- Make sure you have full administrator rights on the computer you 

  install on.



- AXIS Media Control Embedded settings will remain after upgrade. 



- After upgrade to this version it is not possible to downgrade to 

  the previous version without a complete uninstallation. 





Uninstallation

==============



- Run 'Uninstall' under Start/Control Panel/Add or Remove programs/

  Some files might need to be manually erased under 

  C:\Program Files\Axis Communications\Axis Media Control Embedded\ 

  and %My Documents%\AXIS Media Control - Snapshots\ or where located 

  as specified for snapshots. 



- MPEG-2, MPEG-4, and AAC decoders are not erased by 'Uninstall' 

  and need to be manually erased under 

  C:\%WINDOWS%\Downloaded Program Files\. Right click on the decoder 

  to erase and choose 'Remove'.





Recommendations

- If the hardware requirements are not fulfilled, performance of the

Other

=====



- To reset AXIS Media Control Embedded to factory default settings, remove the 

  registry key:



     HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Axis Communications\AXIS Media Control



- To enable AXIS Media Control Embedded log, add the following keys to the 

  registry:
