Even Illumination
A scene that can appear to be reasonably well lit to the human eye will often fail to provide useable surveillance images under low light conditions. Why? Because the illumination is designed for pedestrians, for drivers and not for the CCTV camera. Without sufficient and most importantly the right type of illumination, CCTV footage will show only poorly lit, shadowy parts of the scene.

Manufacturers with rich pioneering history use special «lens formula» to achieve even illumination, so that returned radiated energy to the camera is the same from wherever the subject is in the scene. Even illumination allows the camera to work within its dynamic range, preventing over exposure and giving the camera the best opportunity to capture the best picture possible.
